Abstract

Digital transformation has become a pervasive phenomenon across various sectors, promising increased efficiency, innovation, and connectivity. However, its sustainability and environmental impact remain underexplored. This scholarly article aims to analyze the sustainability implications of digital transformation initiatives, considering their energy consumption, electronic waste generation, and carbon footprint. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature, this article identifies key challenges and opportunities for promoting sustainability within the digital transformation paradigm. It also discusses potential strategies and technologies for mitigating environmental impacts and fostering sustainable practices in digital innovation.
