About the Journal

IECED Journal of Social Sciences  (JSS) is a peer-reviewed & multi-disciplinary online open access journal that publishes high quality empirical and theoretical research papers, case studies, literature reviews, book reviews, theses/dissertations and academic essays. The JSS welcomes Academicians, Professionals, Senior and Junior Scholars to submit their academic research articles.

JSS is an Open Access Journal that can be accessed and downloaded online for free. Thus, ensuring high visibility and increase of citations for all research articles published. The journal aims to facilitate scholarly work on recent theoretical and practical aspects of Political and Social Sciences. Researchers, Academics and Policymakers are able to submit their manuscript at any time. Before submitting, please ensure that the manuscript is in accordance with the Journal & Higher Education Commission (HEC) Policy, epistemic focus and scope, written in English, and follows the author guidelines & manuscript template available at the website. All submitted manuscripts via Open Journal System (OJS) are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, will undertake rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.

Scope of JSS

IECED  Journal of Social Sciences  (JSS) is a peer-reviewed & multi-disciplinary online open access journal. The journal has a deliberately broad scope and publishes high quality empirical and theoretical research papers, case studies, literature reviews, book reviews, theses/dissertations and academic essays. As an international journal JSS intended to facilitate the worldwide exchange of theory in different fields of Social Sciences.

The JSS covers scholarly research articles in the fields of Political & Social Sciences, which include, but not limited to, Political Science, Philosophy, Criminology, Anthropology, Humanities, Government Studies, Development Studies, Gender Studies, International Relations, Law, Public Administration, Public Policy, Women Education, Women Empowerment, Education, Sociology, Psychology, Physical Education & Sports, Special Education, Journalism & Mass Communication, Islamic Studies, Pakistan Studies, Cultural Studies, History, Geography, Cross-cultural Studies, Linguistic and Literature, Social Work, Online & Distance Learning, Global Pedagogies, Ethics, Demographical Studies, Economics, Commerce, Management Sciences and other related subjects.

Author Guidelines

Information for Authors

IECED Journal of  Social Sciences  (JSS) is an international peer-reviewed academic Journal envisioned for researchers in all fields of social sciences. It is essential to give name, designation & email address, when submitting a manuscript. Articles must be written in good English. Submission of an article implies that the work: a) has not been published previously in whole or part b) is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, c) is approved by all Authors, d) if accepted, will not be published elsewhere in whole or part, in English or any other language. A letter will be sent to the corresponding Author confirming receipt of the manuscript. The Submission Process Manuscripts are to be submitted online. Stepwise guidance will be provided if needed. No other form of submission is accepted.

Submission

Submission to IECED Journal of  Social Sciences  (JSS) proceeds totally online and you will be guided stepwise through the creation and uploading of your files. Submission of a manuscript to JSS needed an undertaking on the part of the author(s), that the particular manuscript which is going to be publish in JSS is neither whole nor any substantial part of the manuscript has been published before, in press, or is under consideration elsewhere.

Decision Regarding Publication

If a submission’s manuscript is considered fit for the mandate of the journal, it will be sent for peer reviews. After receiving reviews’ feedback, it will be decided to either accept or reject the manuscript for further process and the editorial board is under no obligation to justify its decision. This whole process normally takes 2-3 months. (See attached formats for all research designs)

General Instructions and Formatting

Title: 

The title of the article should be bold, centered and typed in capital letters (12 point) Times New Roman Font.

Author(s) Details:

These Author(s) details should be in (10 point) Times New Roman Font and centered below the title.

Abstract: 

All manuscripts must be accompanied by a brief Abstract. Abstract should not exceed 150-200 words. It should be properly formatted as justified in italicized text in Times New Roman Font (11 point). It should highlight Research Background, Methodology, Major Finding(s) and Conclusion in brief.

Key Words: 

Authors must mention 3-10 Keywords. Keywords should be listed alphabetically, separated by commas and full stop at the end.

Page Setup:

One inch on all sides except the left side with 1.5 inches.

Manuscript:

Manuscripts must in between 3000 – 7000 words (all inclusive). Line spacing should be single throughout the paper, including abstract, body of the document, references, appendixes, footnotes, tables, and figures, Times New Roman font, 11 point. Utmost care should be taken to avoid any spelling or grammatical errors (it is advised to first get your draft reviewed from an English Language Expert before submission)

Tables and Figures/Images: 

All important tables and figures/images should be incorporated into the body of the paper. Heading of the Table should be in Times New Roman, Bold, 11 Points. Heading of the Figure/Images Should also be of the same specifications as Tables but below the Image/Figure and Centrally Aligned.

References:

All references should be listed alphabetically at end of the article using APA reference style only.

Author(s) Biography:

Every author must submit a brief biography and a photograph.

Plagiarism Policy

JSS checks the originality of the manuscripts by authenticates and presents the “Similarity Report” to the authors. Authors should ensure that submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere in any language, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted. Applicable copyright laws and conventions should be followed. Copyright material (e.g. tables, figures or extensive quotations) should be reproduced only with appropriate permission and acknowledgment. 

The journal is strictly against any unethical act of copying or plagiarism in any form. Plagiarism is said to have occurred when large portions of a manuscript have been copied from existing previously published resources. All manuscripts submitted for publication to JSS are cross-checked for plagiarism using Turnitin software. Manuscripts found to be plagiarized during initial stages of review are out-rightly rejected and not considered for publication in the journal. In case a manuscript is found to be plagiarized after publication, the Editor-in-Chief will conduct a preliminary investigation, may be with the help of a suitable committee constituted for the purpose. If the manuscript is found to be plagiarized beyond the acceptable limits, the journal will contact the author’s Institute / College / University and Funding Agency, if any. A determination of misconduct will lead JSS to run a statement bi-directionally linked online to and from the original paper, to note the plagiarism and provide a reference to the plagiarized material. The paper containing the plagiarism will also be marked on each page of the PDF. Upon determination of the extent of plagiarism, the paper may also be formally retracted.

Publishing Schedule

The Frequency of IECED Journal of  Social Sciences  (JSS) has been revised from bi-annual to Quarterly. This means that New Issue will now be published every three months. This change will be implemented w.e.f. October 2024 & onward.

Vol — Issue  1:   January to March.              

Vol — Issue  2:   April to June. 

Vol — Issue  3:   July  to September.             

Vol — Issue  4:  October  to December.
